 In the old days (i.e. early 2020. In the past comedians would have had the expectation to tour across the UK for many years before being invited onto a television panel, and later selling an arena tour. However, the reality is that it's difficult. Comedy is one form of art that has been able to remain performed front of a live audience, but we're not going to see arena tours any time soon. One comedian from Bristol has been able to reach a large global public through the use of social media lockdown. Making it big on the internet isn't something that Abi Clarke set out to achieve. The 24-year-old, living in Hen bury, with her parents, first started making videos online "to create a fan base of like-minded individuals who would enjoy my stand-up comedy. "I was doing a lot more gigs in Devon to males aged 50 and older so I began creating videos online in the hopes that I could create a following of like-minded people who would enjoy my stand-up comedy." Abi said.
